Schwartzsche Villa - Fachbereich Kultur Steglitz-Zehlendorf

Schwartzsche Villa

The former summer residence of the banker Carl Schwartz at the centrally located Steglitz City Hall has functioned as a multidisciplinary cultural institution since 1995. Exhibitions, concerts of classical chamber music, literary events, children’s theater and lectures all take place here. The schedule of programming for the entire year consists of approximately 360 events. In addition, the artist’s studio, a printing workshop and a photo lab can be used by artists upon request. International contemporary art is presented in the communal gallery, generally in the form of solo exhibitions. The focus is placed on initial presentations of artists and projects developed specifically for the location.
